A Further Insight into Extraction Procedures Suitable for Separation of Gold Nanoparticles from Environmental Waters

Gold nanoparticles (AuNP) are being utilized in an ever-expanding number of applications ranging from scientific research to industrial processes. Increasing nanoparticle emissions the environment have become public and academic concern. Since effects AuNP on human health not fully understood, accumulation reliable detailed data is critical for assessment their potential risk harm humanity. Even concentrations natural engineered water systems do belong commonly published data. To obtain such information, environmental chemists use various sophisticated analytical methods that often very expensive. Therefore, this paper aims challenge advantages cheaper equally alternatives couple well-established extraction procedures with common spectrometric quantify ultratrace complex aqueous matrices. Both types procedures, solvent extractions as well sorbent extractions, discussed text. A inspection different interactions responsible ability selectively separate mixtures containing ionic species, gold ions, other metallic nanoparticles, dissolved organic matter can be found overview.
